The house of GMIRWhere light becomes eternal.
GMIR is our founder’s family name. It comes from Qumayr, “little moon” in Arabic, born of Qamar, the moon. Light, brilliance, beauty: the name already speaks of the craft.
An anecdote to begin with: an Excel file a developer named “GMIR JEWELRY” so he could find it again. The agency turned it into a brand, and he let himself be convinced.
The founder
Thirty-five years between two worlds.
1989: leaving for China, Beijing then Shanghai, as a student of Mandarin. Then Paris Dauphine, and a commercial career in transport, on the Chinese market.
“I decided to go back into jewellery, but not classic jewellery. Lab diamonds really are the future.”
The path
A few milestones
1989
The departure. Beijing, then Shanghai: two years in China, then Paris Dauphine.
1999
A meeting in Hong Kong. The field that had always drawn him: luxury and the world of elegance.
1999–2005
Exceptional pieces in natural diamond, chosen with a partner in Shenzhen, worn in Paris, Barcelona, Antwerp and Tunis.
2025
Back to the Hong Kong fairs. The discovery of lab-grown diamonds. In November, GMIR Jewelry.

The purpose
Making diamonds accessible.
Offering an engagement diamond almost always runs into the same sentence: it isn’t in the budget. The whole house was born from that sentence.
Making diamonds accessible
To young couples first, who so often hear: it isn’t in the budget.
Without losing the magic
The pleasure of giving, the emotion of the gesture, and light at the end of it all.
A fair price, not a low price
Adding value rather than artificially lowering the price.
“I would like luxury to stop being reserved exclusively for one kind of person.”

The conviction
Real diamonds, born of science.
Neither zircon nor crystal: a real diamond, simply of a different origin.
Carbon
Thousands of metres underground, under extreme pressure and heat, over millions of years. The laboratory recreates these conditions: the carbon crystallises in a few weeks.
The eye
A jeweller cannot tell one stone from the other without a gemmological laboratory.
Value
For equal quality and weight, about four times less than a mined stone. And without mining.
“Is a child born thanks to science fake? It is a human being. A diamond born in a laboratory is still a diamond.”
A house between three worlds
Six collections
Europe brings restraint, proportion and timelessness. Asia and the Middle East bring colour, light and generous volumes. Six collections, one for each diamond colour.
